Hello there! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am also a mother, daughter and sister. Throughout this journey called life, I have been fortunate to cross paths with all persons from all walks of life. I like to believe there is something to learn from every experience and interaction we have with all people. I have come to learn, even the not so pleasant of experiences are opportunities to grow and in the future be a source of support and comfort for someone else.
I believe we can allow life to happen to us, or we can grab life by the horns and take charge. Our work together would be collaborative and include assistance in empowering you to have the final say about your life and creating a new narrative. I like to believe in the power of choices. I believe we have the choice of what our mood is going to be in that very moment. And when we finally realize the power we possess, our days become easier and less bothered. We are able to meet the world with more compassion, because we can better regulate and chose our mood allowing us to have a different perspective than before. My approach includes use of Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focus Therapy.
When I'm not deep into my thoughts, I enjoy spending time with family, exercising, reading a good book, and traveling but nothing compares to the joy I have for helping others. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey! I am truly honored.
As a Marriage Family Therapist I focus my approach to the individuals particular needs and goals. Also to establishing a supportive place for clients to heal and make changes in their lives.
While using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT) and mindfulness base approach along with establishing a trusting, supportive relationship so we can achieve your best personal growth.
Together we can work to gain insight into the cause of personal challenges and develop strategies and learn new skills to succeed now and in the future.

I am passionate about helping people overcome mental health problems that keep them from becoming their best selves. Many problems stem from childhood trauma. It can be very helpful for a person to understand the roots of their anxiety, depression, addictive behaviors, or relationship issues. But I also believe that helping people understand the connection between their thoughts, moods, and behaviors can empower them to change negative thinking patterns that keep them stuck in self-defeating behaviors. I use Cognitive Behavioral interventions to help change these negative thinking patterns. I also use art therapy, Solution-Focused, and mindfulness-based approaches. These strategies can help clients explore trauma and underlying issues, create practical solutions to their problems, and learn to live in the Here-and-Now.
I became a Counselor later in life, so I strongly believe in the adage “It’s never too late to become the person you were meant to be.”

Life can change in an instant. What was once predictable, safe, and familiar is gone and we are left with the unknown. Life transitions, both big and small, require support. Some are easily manageable while others cause us to forget who we once were. In my practice I focus on working together to again find equilibrium. Sometimes we can't be who we once were but it absolutely does not mean we cannot discover who we are now or who we want to be in the future.

I will work with you to create such an experience.
I approach therapy with a variety of modalities that we can use as we find what works best for you. This includes Transpersonal, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral to name a few. Not one approach works best for everyone which is why we will decide together how to proceed with helping you.

It is my experience that every challenge in life is an opportunity to grow. In therapy you will find your strengths, uncover your true authentic self, and feel empowered to live your full potential, finding meaning and happiness.
Life has its challenges, and at times we can manage it on our own. Other times, we need assistance and asking for help can be a daunting process. Therapy can help you navigate through those challenges whether they are a result of depression, anxiety, relationships, life changes, work circumstances, or whatever it may be. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I have experience working with adults, children, adolescents, and families of various ethnicities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses. I utilize multiple evidenced-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), mindfulness skills and communication skills training to help clients achieve their goals. With these evidence-based approaches, I can assist you in processing past traumas, decreasing depression, anxiety, and ADHD symptoms, and improve your communication and life management skills. Change is difficult, but not impossible. I look forward to working with you to achieve your therapeutic goals!
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I will help you identify the root concerns that brought you to therapy. I'll provide a safe space to connect with and vocalize the emotions needed to clarify what it is you want for yourself. Using a narrative approach, we will explore the impact of family relationships, upbringing, and trauma on your sense of self and process the ways we try to control the thoughts and feelings inside such as; increased anxiety, depression, and/or substance abuse. I'll personalize therapy to assist you in building coping skills as well as working through barriers to increase communication and self-worth. Together, we will identify your strengths and practice challenging unhealthy automatic thoughts to find understanding and empowerment. My hope is that you'll create change within using the awareness and acceptance you'll gain. There is nothing wrong with giving yourself permission to put your needs first.
I am an ally to the LGBTQ2S+ community, sex positive, and all ages and genders are welcome.

Just like the waves in the ocean, life often presents us with its ups and downs. Those ups and downs show up in people’s lives differently and can become too challenging to manage. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a Ph.D. in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology from Western Michigan University.
My approach to clients starts with an appreciation for where they are in the current moment. Everyone struggles with stressors in life & they cope in the only way they know how. My focus is to help people become more aware of what is working or not working in their lives. Often, just the awareness of one's behavior can trigger progress in a positive direction. These positive changes give one the hope necessary that then results in more positive changes. The more understanding one has about emotions, thoughts, behaviors, beliefs/ judgments and how they all interact help these positive changes continue. My focus is to help others recognize their inner strength, develop more awareness of what is driving their current behavior and how to reinforce the behaviors/thoughts that lead to a direction in their lives that make it worth living.

There are moments in all our lives that call for change. As individuals, couples, families, and more, we may find we need a new way to live that better suits the times. In finding that new way, everyone is their own best teacher. Some days, learning might mean calmly talking through the pros and cons. Other days, crying or fist-shaking might be best thing. My goal as a therapist is to provide support and encouragement to your life-learning process, wherever it takes you.
I received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University of Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Psychology from Cal Poly State University of San Luis Obispo. I have years of experience working as a clinical supervisor, executive director, individual therapist, therapeutic behavioral specialist, and substance use counselor. All of us need confidential support for different things at times. My job is to compassionately support you in what you need, with your values, to have the life that you want.
I am here to help you learn to love yourself, to have patience, and to look at problems from a different and positive perspective, so that you can find different ways to resolve them. Maybe something happened in life that has affected you and despite your efforts, it has been hard to cope with, leading to feeling stressed, hopeless, anxious, or depressed. Such overwhelming symptoms and mood instability make it hard to live a balanced and pleasant life.
Problems can arise in our physical health, and relationships, work, and/or school begin to suffer. I am interested in grasping your whole world, inner and outer, and how they interact. I am dedicated and focused on helping you feel empowered and guiding you through a positive path to growth and well-being.

I am a bilingual Spanish-Speaking Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Espanol es mi lenguage de nacimiento. I am skilled in providing culturally competent care for ethnically diverse populations. I work well with clients who are willing to experience a little discomfort in order to reach a more balanced place in their lives. I look forward to working with you to reach your personal goals and live your life with balance, peace, and satisfaction.
I believe people who seek therapy are not necessarily "sick" but stuck in patterns of relating to others that are no longer working. How we treat each other and how we are being treated matters a great deal. Like ropes, relationships get tangled and knotted and we sometimes need help to get untangled. As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.
I work from a systems point of view to evaluate relationship patterns and help individuals, couples and families create new, healthy ways of relating to one another. I respect each person's spiritual journey and seek ways in which that journey can help in the therapeutic process.Type your paragraph here.
